Front bumper shell removal:
Tools you'll need?
Small socket set (metric)
Thing shafted flathead
Like, 15 minutes.
Okay, so let's get started
Step 1 - Remove the upper radiator crossmember clips
Note: I found these easy to get around after you get used to them. Take a screwdriver and push down on the circle in the middle. This will push the pin out, and with luck - fall on the ground below the car. Then pull up on the shell to pull the mount out. There are six of these, make sure you don't lose anything!
Step 3 - Remove bumper bolts in wing liner
Step 4 - Remove the spoiler shield (If your car has headlight washers, you're going to need to unplug them and suspend/cap them)
Note: You don't need to unplug that connector, either - unless you plan on moving the bumper more then a few feet away
Step 5 - Pull the corner of the bumper shell loose from the holder mounting
Note: You can tug a little bit, but not too hard. For me, this didn't get me anywhere. However, if you get a plastic wedge or a thin shafted flathead screwdriver, you can pry downwards and the clips will disconnect. Kind of make a loud noise, but trust me they are fine. They are several, so just keep going until that end up the bumper is pretty much hanging. Go do the other side - only took a second with the screwdriver method
Step 6 - Lift off the shell!
To put back on - pretty much everything in reverse. One note for putting the bumper back on concerning the side clips. Push them into position - then bang with your fist. Hard. You'll get it on there. Make sure you guided the clips in so they will actually connect when you bang them into place, though.
